After our 4 week old outgrew his hospital swaddle blankets, these were perfect to switch to and they’re more comfortable when the room warmed up in the spring. These will last through the end of summer. So glad we invested in these. I would definitely buy again if we needed more.

I bought one of these on clearance for my 3rd(and last) baby. I bought this 4 pack for gifts for friends and so my 2 older kids could have a blanket in the van on trips. These are the BEST blankets for swaddling when the babies are little. I’m a pediatric nurse and also work on the mother/baby floor and wish we had these at the hospital. These blankets wash like a dream, don’t hold on to stains and get softer and softer the more you wash them. My kids love theirs and I will be buying more as my friends and family keep having babies! One more thing I love about these blankets, they are light weight and fold down into a very small compact size to fit in a diaper bag (I fit 3 in my glove box for trips) but are big enough to double up for warmth. I also found they are great for covering myself when the baby is nursing and neither of us get too hot from a bulky blanket, like I did with his sisters. I highly recommend and think they make a great shower gift. I buy the 4 pack and give away 2 at a time, one to use and one can be in the wash. Slightly expensive but so worth it (my first blanket is over 15mo old and still looks brand new)!

I love these blankets. They are thin and airy enough that I never worried about my son suffocating with them. If it is colder out, I just double them up.
The blankets are fabulous for spit up accidents. Most blankets are too small. Since these absorb so well and are large. Perfect for swaddling.
My son uses them as sleeping blankets and for security. The are also great to cover up your stroller when your baby is sleeping. Great for picnics and sun shades. Their size lets you be creative.

On a recent trip to Japan, my son and I had the opportunity to stay in a friends home. In addition to futons, our host provided us with buckwheat pillows. We both slept great. For two weeks after returning home I had trouble sleeping through the night. At first, I thought it might be due to some kind of residual effect of the time difference in Japan and the long flight home. But I noticed that, in addition to the frequent waking up throughout the night and being unable to get comfortable, in the morning my neck and upper back hurt. It occurred to me that the problem might be my old fiberfill pillow. At this point I decided to go on a search for a buckwheat pillow, remembering how well I had slept using one during our trip. I settled on the Organic Buckwheat Pillow (Japanese size) from Amazon.com. It was the right choice. Since the first night of using it, I have consistently slept through the night. I wake up with no neck or upper back pain. I later bought one for my son, and he also tells me that he finds it very good for his sleeping. I highly recommend this pillow.

Huge neck pain before getting this pillow.

This smaller size doesn’t impact the comfort. I use it under my back, knee for side sleeping, or for guests…(Twin size used more regularly for my head, but the smaller one works just as well)
I tried water pillows, foam, cotton, tempurpedic, etc before this product, including 3 chiropractic pillows. Nothing is as comfortable and supportive. Even my eyeballs feel relaxed! (I’m serious!) It turns a crappy mattress into great support just by a pillow! (It makes sense though when you consider animals and baby’s body positioning being determined by neck support…see Alexander Technique)

I have fantasies of adopting or fostering children just so they can try my kid-sized pillow!

Now I just want more of them…and free shipping!

I was hesitant to purchase a new buckwheat pillow over the internet. Many pillows that I had seen in the past were understuffed and seemed to be of poor quality. This buckwheat pillow laid my fears to rest. It is very well made and generously stuffed with buckwheat.
I would recommend this pillow to anyone who is in search of a better nights sleep. It is very supportive and comfortable. One warning though, if you are the type of person who enjoys a “squishy” pillow, buckwheat may not be for you.

Overall thoughts: Buckwheat pillows are firm and can be molded to exactly fit your head. If you want to roll to your side, or your back, you can reshift the buckwheat to perfectly fit your head. The result is perfectly customized head and neck support. Very nice! This pillow has a very generous amount of buckwheat, and a useful side zipper through with you can customize the amount of buckwheat in the pillow. I actually removed about a third of the buckwheat in my pillow.
Down sides: If you are a light sleeper who moves a lot, like I am, you do a good bit of readjusting the pillow at night. Also, i have yet to find a pillowcase that fits it well. The pillow is a great size for my head, just not for a standard pillowcase.
Personally: When I get a migraine, I also have intense neck pain. I lay on this pillow with a cloth over my eyes. The pillow provides immediate relief for my neck, which, in turn, helps my head. The pillow also causes no problem with my dust/mildew allergies.
